To all practitioners of Magic within the Protectorate:
As of midnight two days ago, all Sorcerers capable of casting the highest level of Arcane Magic have reported they cannot access the mana flow that surrounds our world when they try to do so.
We have already confirmed with our colleagues in Enchantica, Oakwoods, the Iron League and the Darklands that they are suffering from the same problem. It only seem to affect the highest level of Arcane magic at this time.
Any reliable news on the source of the phenomenon is urgently sought, as is the whereabouts of Puddle Greenbark, ex-head of the Water College of the Unseen University from Deepfell.

We are now been able to confirm that the Guardians have moved forces into the Eastern and North-Eastern sections of the area known as the 'Neutral Zone' (the exclusion/neutral buffer area surrounding the Haunted Hills on all sides).
These forces contain several hundred Protected group members, a few dozen Guardian Warriors and a half-dozen Guardian Lords.
Hostilities have already commenced between these forces and several groups of the multiple factions currently embroiled in perdiodic combat within the Haunted Lands and Northern Stygia.
The Guardians indicate they are putting down a "threat to our territory" and only wish to ensure their domain remains clear of these many warring factions in the Darklands.
In associated news, the Pale Duke has declared he is beginning to mass forces of his own to ensure the borders to the rest of "his lands" remain clear of this fighting.
Already we have reports of troops loyal to him on the North-Eastern border of the Haunted Lands and Eastern border of Stygia.

The Darklands Ambassador has advised us that the Southern, South-Eastern and Eastern regions of the Haunted Lands are now covered by small battles and skirmishes between the following groups:
The Guardians group that left the Haunted Hills a while ago, the Mercenaries under the command of General Arcturo Tyberius of the Western League from the Iron League, hundreds of Undead and Necromancers thought to be from the Haunted Lands and hardcore members of the Cult of the Severed Soul as well as forces of the High Pyromancer that were last seen in the North-east of Enchantica over a month ago.
A report received this morning also indicates Drow from at least two Houses and dozens of what seem to be Darklanders bearing the markings of the Dark Temple have moved to join in what can only be described as a free-for-all in the Haunted Lands and the indications are this will spill over into North-west and Northern Stygia - possibly even the neutral zone around the Haunted Hills - very soon.
All Protectorate activities or travel anywhere NEAR these area's have been suspended for the forseeable future.

Reports are being received of three large bodies of 'troops' moving across the lands, heading towards what appears to be Stygia.
A very large unit of Mercenaries under the Command of General Arcturo Tyberius from the Western League within the Iron League, over a hundred Drow of House Kuvadra crossing the Haunted Lands within the Darklands and an unknown force of around three hundred men in what appear to be Darkland colours bearing the marks of the Dark Templars heading out from the Chaos Crater.
We are unsure as to the reasons for these movements but have reason to believe it is linked to the recent appearance of a large force of Undead near the Haunted Lands and the dark-garbed beings crossing the Iron League/Protectorate border as previously reported.
More information will be given as we get it.

For the first time in recent history, we have decided to inform all major powers of Eden of the result of our yearly political meeting; the Dark Parliament.
For those of you less informed people, this is where the Rulers of our Nine great Houses decide upon the actions and rankings of individuals of note as well as the heirachy of our Houses.
The power of each House is listed in descending order and the first three Houses are all Noble Houses of our peoples:
House Valderain - known as Dayblight
House Asruvail - known as Daybane
House Kuvadra - known as Darklaw
House Natothin - known as Bloodpool
House Malagon - known as Mindseye
House Sharve - known as Honourblade
House Elservs - known as Darkened magic
House Chagra - known as Dark warning
House Durature - known as Ancient blood
Houses Malagon and Elservs have risen, whilst Sharve and Chagra have fallen.
For the uneducated amongst you, House Durature is the House residing within the Protectorate.

We have received solid information that the Lord of Eerie was slain on orders of the Pale Duke, who has cited treason as the instigating factor in the assassination of the head of one of the Darkland provinces.
As far as we are aware, control of Eerie is now in the Pale Dukes hands.
We have no further update on who slew Vendor Magnifico of the Iron League, but it is believed the province he controlled is now being run by a Syndicate of powerful merchants and magistrates.

As of midnight tonight, the Unseen University, Cave of Wonders and Sabbath Hill are off-limits due to severe localised disturbances and reports of extreme levels of dangerous magical energies around these areas.
We can confirm rumours of fighting occurring at all three sites and have already stationed guards and patrols nearby.
Until further notice ONLY authorised personages will be allowed within one half mile of these places and then only under strict guidelines.
More information will be provided when we have it, but we have confirmation several Sorcerers were seen fighting dark-garbed figures - and possibly amongst themselves - at each of these sites within the last four hours.

We are receiving reports of large numbers of Constructs and Elementals massing in central and northern Enchantica. The UU are looking into this but have initially stated it is not of their doing. Currently around seventy Elementals comprising of all primary elements have been seen as well as four score constructs - mostly Rag and String golems and Clay golems.

We can now confirm the rumours spreading from the Oakwoods that the statement made at the Winter Solstice by the Circle of the Bloodied Stag was no mere code or riddle:
The Ent's have marched.
From the Deepwoods and central Oakwoods, dozens of sightings of Ent's on the move have been reported and we have been assured they are not currently intending to cross over into the Protectorate.
They are, however, massing on the Stygian border and appear to be awaiting...something.
When we know more, we will let everyone know.
In the meantime, be prepared for Stygian Ambassadors to be seen being escorted through our Provinces...

There has been a noted increase in travellers and outlying settlements being harassed by Dark Fey and troublesome sylvan creatures over the last couple of weeks.

We are announcing the disappearance of Arrus Highbreeze, head of the Air College.
The Unseen University is prepared to pay a sum of two hundred gold for information leading to his whereabouts. We believe he may have been taken against his will.
For information purposes, Arrus is an Elven Male standing around six feet tall with short fair hair and will usually be wearing a Sorcerers robe and accoutrements as well as wielding a magical blade of Elven design.
He was last seen in the vicinity of Salt River, near the Faerie Forest/Enchantican border with his personal entourage.

We have recently received news from our sources in the Iron League and the Darklands confirming the assassinations of the three following Provincial rules has been confirmed:
Vendor Magnifico of Barter Island (allegedly over his trade embargo from two years ago)
Lord of Eerie of Eerie (Killed in his own home within Castle Claw by forces unknown)
The Chamberlain of Lake Commerce (Slain whilst in session with delegates from the Unified States whilst in his capital of the City of Commerce)
We are currently awaiting updates on their potential successors.
It has been confirmed that the Brotherhood of Knives killed The Chamberlain brazenly in front of seven other important notables of the Iron League and four Dwarven ambassadors. It is currently unknown as to why a contract was placed upon him.

To all inhabitants of the Protectorate:
It has been spoken of for some time, but we can now confirm that magical 'disturbances' are occurring in some southern Provinces as well as in nearby countries.
It should be noted these have not proven detrimental in any way and simply seem to be variances in the magical flux and mana flows around us; sometimes resulting in a sensation of being 'pushed' slightly.
We are investigating and liaising with our colleagues in Enchantica and Stygia as well as the Iron League and the Elementalist Conclaves in the Oakwoods to determine the source(s) of said 'disturbances'.
In the meantime, if you see anyone or overhear anyone complaining they feel they are being 'drawn' in a direction, please report this to the nearest Unseen University representative at the earliest opportunity.

During the start of the Winter season the Grove was forced into closing it's borders to all non-Druids and we understand how the secrecy around this action looks to the rest of the Province.
We have now resolved the internal issue and our Groves are once again open to visitors as before.
We would like to take this opportunity to advise the local populace and Auxilliaries to be aware that a new addition to our numbers is currently exploring it's new surroundings and, if met, we would take pains to assure you it is best to merely let the Ar-an'a Theia'nar go about it's business.
At all times it will be accompanied by at least one or two Druids from one of our sub-sects.
If seen alone, please let it continue on it's way and inform a patrol or member of the Grove at the earliest opportunity.
The Ar-an'a Theia'nar is easily recognisable due to it's bright green skin, arboreal appearance and occasional sudden bursts of minor vegetative growth in it's vicinity.

Over the last two months we have received news and information about various leaders and important personages within the Guilds and Sects of Shadyvale. As the new year census is almost due, we will take this opportunity to make an official announcement:
Sir Thane, Head of the Hand of Good, has officially confirmed his return to the Dreamlands. Athril Godspeed is the current Acting Head.
Brother Moses, Head of the Apostles of the Flame and several Priests of the Apostles of the Flame, are confirmed as having been slain at the battle of Darkshadow pass on the Northwestern edge of the Darksun some six weeks ago. Several other notable priests and High priest from the Disciples of Purity are also missing. Mercurious is the current Acting Head of the Apostles of the Flame.
Master Vortigen of the Black Blades has been reported missing as he is eight weeks overdue from a, uh, mission in Stygia.
Cardinal Scarab has been officially announced dead by the Dark Temple after five plus years of absence. It is unknown as to what happened to him but Lady Castracia De'ath and Sir Thoran De'ath (Head of the Hand of Darkness and Champion of the Dark Paladins respectively) have also been declared dead as they have been missing since the Dark Temple assault on Cult of the Severed Soul forces in the Darksun two years ago. The current Acting Head of the Dark Temple is The Master Seer and Arcturus Shaderender is now the Head of the Hand of Darkness. There is no current news on who is now in charge of the Hammer of Darkness.
Crag Deepdelver has returned to the Unified States and Gerhardt von Klinsman is now the Head of the Fist of the Wise.

We have received a statement from the Head Heirophant of Deepfern:
"Our thanks go to the members of the Protectorate for their assistance is attempting to cleanse our lands of the horror known as 'the Darksun'. Due to their involvement over the last few months in destroying groups of Necromancers and Undead within that blighted area - and recent massive preparations made within the Deepwoods witnessed by various members of several countries - we are pleased to confirm that the region is slowly returning to normal.
We do not expect this to be happen soon and will not state it will ever be the same again, but the forces there and the malevolent power controlling them are moving away or being dealt with.
On a related note, we have a statement from the Circle of the Blooded Stag; The Ents march."

No news has reached us for many weeks now of the Guardian incursions into Darklands territory.
It is assumed they achieved their objectives and those who transgressed against them have been brought to justice.
Delegates from the Pale Duke have been seen travelling into the Haunted Hills over the last month, most likely to apologise or demand reparation for the damage caused - or maybe both.
The Guardians recently issued a concerning statement, said to have come directly from the Guardian Lord, Imhet'pah Moon-sceptre:
"We, the Guardians of the Ancients, have been instructed to remind the races of the Enclosed Lands that all transgressions against us will be met without mercy or clemency. Delegates from all Countries are welcome to visit our territory if they require clarification of our rules or requests. We also announce our new martial Commander and champion of the Ancients; The Champion of the Ancients, Hero of our peoples, Avatar of Law, The Hand of Justice, Blight of Chaos, Rameses Tuten-ar, Al'Kufu".

To all Citizens of the Protectorate:
We apologise for the extreme delay in reporting the name of the new Lord Protector. This has been due to political, diplomatic and theological matters which required a great deal of secrecy.
We can now confirm the position of the Lord Protector has not been taken by an individual, but is being collectively held by the Great Henge Magistrates until an individual has been chosen - if any become suitable.
The Magistrates have made it clear there will be no announcement concerning the rejection of other applicants besides those that had already been removed from the running for the position.
